The Art of Being a Man
The Art of Being a Man is my small input into King's Kids program for Kyrgyzstan.
At KK we have a group of young men (13-18 years old). All of them are Christians, and many of them grew up in Christian families, but many are still struggling with their faith identity. Unfortunately, many young guys in churches here don't receive enough attention from older men. When I think of myself at that age, I believe that I would have made fewer mistakes if I would have a person or a group of strong believers who would mentor me in some areas of my life. I also think how much was invested in me by Men in my life, and I'm indefinitely grateful for friends who were older than me like Roman Gaiduk, Sergiu Rusu or Igor Putina, as well as for my peers like my friend Vali Manea, Nicu Brinzan or Alex Rubel. All these Men taught me how to be a man.
I thought about that and I felt like God is really moving me to do something with these young guys, so we started "The Art of Being a Man". I gather these young men (8-9 guys) every Sunday afternoon. We spend men's time together talking about what does it mean to be a Man. We talk about different virtues, do's and don'ts in daily life, spiritual side of manliness, variety of roles that a Man has etc...
